Brian Boru Irish Pub.

Updated: Jun 25

Where do i start?

What a fantastic place to visit if your here for a few hours or for a few months.

It was very friendly and welcoming. The staff were fantastic and knowledgeable and most of the customers were either Ex Pats or visitors from all over Europe.

Really cool traditional feel to the bar and i was later informed that its Irish owned, and also, all the furniture, and most of the decor, is straight off the boat from Ireland.

The prices are very good too.

A Guinness will set you back 128kr, approximately £9.40 , €11 or $12. but this is fairly reasonable for Bergen as you will find the same Guinness ( although not as good ) will cost you closer to 140kr the closer you get to the Fish Market. A glass of wine was 103Kr.

The pub is a stones throw away from Mc Donalds and Starbucks in the Fish Market / Bryggen area. Just ask for The famous Hotdog stand Tre kroneren and its literally 2 minutes walk on the opposite side. You will see the flowers and Green Roof canopy.

They have live music on a regular basis and even an English Comedy night every second week on a Wednesday.

I was pleasantly surprised by the place as it really did have a friendly Irish feel to the pub.

They also offer bar snacks like fish and chips ( although i didnt try ) it did look quite good.

They open early during tourist season, 10 in the morning, so atleast drop in and grab a coffee.

Id highly recommend a visit, even just to take a quick 30 minute break to reset before you continue your tour of Bergen..

Great bar, Great Location ,Great people, and fantastic Guinness, what more do you need?

Sláinte,

Billy

Location:

Kong Oscars gate 16,
