Whats the price of?
Updated 28th June 2024
Coffee consumtion in Norway may surprise you.
Here's a stat for you:
Norway has the second-highest per capita coffee consumption, with over 80 percent of its population drinking coffee on a daily basis. Not only are Norwegians drinking coffee every day, but they are also having multiple cups. The average number of cups of coffee consumed by Norwegians is over four! So they know their coffee pretty well.

In bergen they make their own brand called Friele coffee. You will find these coffee bags in almost every home in Bergen. Because of this high demand its no surprise that Bergen is littered with small local independent coffee shops and also some of the big chain coffee shops are here.

Id suggest if your time is limited when you visit, you should definitely try a local independent place rather than the big chains.

The smaller ones have a true coffee shop vibe. relaxed, welcoming and smelling amazing. Norwegians love a skillingsboller too ( cinnamon bun ) so you'll find these in most coffee shops.
During the day coffee shops are bristling with tourists and local people, mixing together for that one goal, a caffeine fix.

Here are a few price examples for coffee and for some fantastic buns and cakes, please be aware most places display 2 prices, one is for take out and the other is to sit at the café wether inside or outside.
